I cannot remember a time when I found myself lacking inspiration...that is until I graduated from college and began my first job. As much as I enjoyed working, it became an incredible drain on my creative energy, and my sketching habits began to fade. Every now and then (read: every 3-4 months or so) I would pick up an old sketch and touch it up, or attempt to improve my digital painting skills, with little success -- always growing bored with the project and setting it down once more. I was sure that after being laid off (thanks to our lovely economy) that the abundance of free time (and new stress of job hunting) would once again bring back my need to vent through my artwork. But no...for six months I stared at my sketchpad, now buried beneath a pile of junk, hoping I would feel that familiar itch to draw.

I can't say what changed, but during a conversation with we were discussing which fairy tale characters we (and others in our group of friends) would be. (I am apparently Cinderella due to my OCD cleaning tendencies). Suddenly, I HAD to draw some of these characters, and so you'll find Not-So-Little Red Ridding Hood in my gallery. Yay for new artwork? I can't even say how good it feels to not only have drawn something, but want to keep going. Rapunzel is next on the list, hopefully she'll be posted soon!
